PASSING DRILLS

PARTNER PASSING

  1. Make two lines of players facing each other, about 10 feet apart.

  2. Need one ball per set of partners.

  3. Pass back and forth, counting number of passes.

  4. When passing, have right foot in front, right hand behind the ball, and wave good-bye to the ball.

  5. When catching, have hands up, in the same position as passing.

ZIG-ZAG LINE PASSING

  1. Make two lines of players facing each other, about 10 feet apart.

  2. Offset the players slightly, to make a zig-zag.

  3. Start with one ball at the end.

  4. Pass the ball back and forth between the lines in a zig-zag fashion.

  5. Start more balls as soon as possible.

  6. When the ball gets to the end, the last player dribbles the ball around the outside of the lines and goes to the starting end and starts the passing again.

TRIANGLE PASSING

  1. Divide players into groups of three. Use one ball for each group.

  2. Make a triangle about 10 feet apart.

  3. Pass around the triangle, making good passes, and catching with the hands up.

  4. Start with push passes. Make 50 passes one direction, then switch directions and make another 50 passes.

  5. Repeat this with bounce passes.
